I'm so sick of articles that allow the general public to leave an opinion at the end in the form of "comment". Here is why: There is always someone who feels they are better than the rest by leaving some version of "who cares" or "why waste the time" as a reply when someone does comment on whatever subject the article was about. Obviously if someone cares enough to read the original article they care, so it's not unheard of that they might leave a comment. Leave them alone. It's noone's business if someone leaves a comment, and you are not a better person if you think you are above the "pettiness" of the posted comment. Whoever adds a place for comments does so to encourage the sharing of oppinions as well as opening up discussion. Noone has the right in their sense of supperiority to try to shut another down with "who cares?". And doesn't anyone see how hypocritical the "who cares?" person is being? Clearly he/she cared enough to not only read the article, but read the comments and then add their own. So in conclusion, leave the person who has the desire to comment alone. You don't have to agree with, but you have no right to assume your oppinion is more meaningful and therefore you are somehow a wiser individual.
